Land Art: Thematic Oppositions

Land Art, Racines (2 photos)

Installation de Land Art réalisée par l'artiste plasticienne Lae

Interesting land art piece... Through New Genres I have become quite interested in land art images...
The piece below was done by children... I am constantly amazed at the creativity that comes out of such innocence, there are times I wish I could go back to that and subconsciously see what comes out...

Jury shows

I just recently heard back from one of the Juried shows I entered, saying that they are still looking at work and will get back to me the end of October... Kind of a strange reality to experience, and kind of exciting at the same time

Somethings Missing

Last semester I began a series of headless women focussing on the Rococo Time period, here is an image I just found that is beautiful example of something similar.

Inspiration

Below is a draft of the sample artist statement i've been working on. I've been thinking of more words that describe what the process is that I go through when I create a piece... Here are a few...
Organic
Innovative
Modern
Meditative
Intense
Exciting
Fusion
Evolve
Influence
Experiment
Fly

These are words that make me feel, and help describe what I feel when i'm working on new choreography...

Artist Statement Draft

I approach my choreography organically, which allows the beats and sounds to move through me in a meditative way, opening the doors for my inspiration.

The piecing of music and movement is an experience that has helped define my existence. The fascination of how moving made me feel, grew from just an allure into a realization of how intense the combining of my movement with music effects who I am.

I fuse foundational experience of technique with experimentation. This allows my work to grow into an innovative, modern, and free experience. I pull from all my influences of different styles and ethnicities, and push my choreography to become its own entity.

Dancing is my entry into a new world, a world of endless possibilities.

Ahh Midterms

Starting to definitely feel the pressure of midterms... I'm taking more credits this semester than I have before and it is proving to become more of a challenge than I thought it would... I Just have to keep chipping away at my pages of "To Do" lists that I have covering my desk at the moment.... Perhaps I should take a picture of that and post it :/

Frustrated much?

I can't help but feel a bit frustrated when it comes to my work right now. I keep asking myself if I should have more work done, but then I ask myself, when is that supposed to happen? And then I wonder where my ideas went, there are days where all I want is a piece of inspiration yet something like a meeting or other class assignment begs me to do take care of that instead. It is a weird feeling compared to my previous semesters to not have the time to get things going...
