Going back

I've been going back through my art history book this weekend; last semester I got totally hooked on the Rococo time period and the flouncy frivolous life styles of the elite of that time.  The dresses and fashion have inspired me to a few pieces in clay, and now i'm attempting to incorporate my ideas into printmaking as well... Fingers are crossed

Putting it all together

This weekend I plan to photograph some of my work so I can start applying shows... I'm thinking about putting in some sculpture, painting, and I am going to start working on a Printmaking project to submit as well...

Art shows

I have never looked for an art show to enter before, so the assignment of finding five to enter has opened up a huge new world for me.   The trouble i've been having is deciding what to enter, I seem to go through this process of self doubt, as to if what I have is even close to being worthy of entering a competition in the first place.   This is why I like the idea of doing this project and having the possibility of receiving rejection letters.  It is all obviously part of being an artist, and I can't think anything else more humbling.  Tough experiences can be great experiences as long as we have the right attitude about it...

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the performance piece last week, but I hope to watch a video clip of it soon.   So far I have heard mixed reviews about it...

This book is one that I got last december and have been studying all summer, the detail and description in this book is great.   The proportions and movements of the human body are so defined, and this book provides an excellent insight into understanding the body's structure and movement.  I got hooked on life drawing last semester, and want to incorporate some of my drawings into printmaking, I don't have any of my images up yet but will soon....

First day!

First day of blogging for Adv. Studio class!  Here are a couple images I like...
