"So You Think You Can Dance"

Last week while out with my friends I ran into Mary Murphy the judge from "So You Think You Can Dance"  It was actually really exciting to meet her because my sister and I have planned to audition for the show together this upcoming year!

This is one of the conventions I've won scholarships for and have danced at for years.... Incredible choreography, and instruction!

Shen Wei Dance Arts Company

Incredible company!

Modern dance is part of what I plan to study at grad school.

Grad School Applications Galore!

Today I have completed the first set of grad school applications and am now just waiting to get my official transcripts all together.  It is kind of a surreal feeling because I honestly never thought I would be going through this process.  When I started dancing years ago I really thought that that was all I was going to do, I would just live my dream of dancing professionally and I didn't need a college degree to do that.   Now here I am three years later in my senior year of college, already preparing for grad school.   Life sure has a funny way of twisting the plans that I made for myself.   My younger sister is leaving in two days to travel to seven different countries performing through vocals and dance, and I cant help but be a bit jealous getting to watch her live out what I wanted to do so badly before I got injured.   The feeling of being a proud big sister though definitely far out way those of being jealous, and I can't help but feel that through my studies in dance at grad school that I will still get to keep fulfilling the passion I have for the art form.
I have been in contact with the school about my audition date and have to decided to dance in person rather than send in a tape.   I feel that this will only give me a better understanding of what the school is about and see if it is truly a good fit for me.   I believe that what is meant to happen will happen... In the right amount of time...  For me it is all about being patient and not being afraid to step out of the box and my own personal boundaries and really explore what is out there for me.   I'm sure this is an adventure I won't ever forget....
